Betty Esther Lohr Krisher, 93 a life long resident of Lordstown, passed on to God's kingdom Saturday morning, June 11, 2016, at her home. She was born November 20, 1922 in Lordstown, the daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth Shockley Lohr. After graduating from Lordstown High School, Betty pursued her interest in art by attending the Butler Institute of Art in Youngstown. In furthering her ability, she painted many oil paintings and sketches for high profile clients from the Warren-Youngstown area. She served her community as a den mother with the Lordstown Cub Scouts for many years and was past president of the Lordstown Military Reservation (the Lordstown Depot) Officer's Club, where she served on the Welcoming Committee for new military officers and their wives. Betty worked in the accounting department of Copperweld Steel Corp. for over 20 years before embarking on a career in real estate. She was a member of the Warren Area Realtors and worked for Willoughby Realty for 11 years, becoming a member of the million dollar club. Branching out on her own, she founded Krisher Realty, Inc., working as a broker and realtor for 25 years. Betty was a longtime member of Emmanual Lutheran Church in Warren; later becoming a member of Lordstown Lutheran Church. Betty married Robert W. Krisher Sr. on September 30, 1940, who preceded her in death January 16, 1999. Betty and Bob had five children, Robert W. Jr. (Michele), Ronald M. (Karen) and Cheryl (Samuel) Kistler all of Lordstown; Margaret (Barry) Cliver of Madison, Virginia and Richard Krisher who died in infancy. As a loving grandmother, she took great pride and joy in her seven grandchildren, Rebekah Conn, Cara Kistler, Sara, Michael and Jonathan Krisher, Amanda and Samantha Kistler and two great grandsons, William and Samuel Conn. Besides by her husband, Bob; Betty was preceded in death by her grandsons, Robert W. Krisher III and Chad Krisher and a daughter-in-law, Susan Bauman Krisher. There will be a private family only memorial service to be held with burial to be with her husband at Lordstown Village Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren. The family requests memorial tributes be made to the Lordstown Lutheran Church, 5615 Palmyra Road S.W., Warren, OH 44481.
