Carla C. Brooks, 72 years old, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday evening, July 2, 2016, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, after losing a courageous fight with cancer. She was born on February 29, 1944 in Warren, a daughter of the late Carl and Susan (Synder) Jones. She was a 1962 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Carla worked for Hillside Hospital in the Data Processing System; for 30 years. She was a proud member of Living Lord Lutheran Church in Warren. Carla volunteered her time with the churches outreach community program. She helped organize bingo events, serving community meals and raising money for food baskets. Her most precious time was spent with her only grandchild, Christian, as she attended all of his band and boy scout functions. She leaves behind her only daughter, Sharon (Van) Padula, of Warren, a grandson, her pride and joy, Christian Padula; siblings, Bruce (Sue) Armstrong of Howland and Nancy Canfield of Warren; nieces Lori (Jody) DiTunno and sons, Pam Marshall and son, Kimberly (Chris) Knupp and sons, Cindy Paul and daughter, Kelly Newbury and sons and a nephew Scott (Peggy) Brooks and daughters. Besides her parents, Carla was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, the late Bill Brooks. They were married on April 2, 1966 and Bill died on November 25, 2009, after 43 years of marriage. Funeral service will be held Friday July 8, 2016 at Living Lord Lutheran Church, 851 Niles-Cortland Rd. Warren at 11:00 am with Pastor Bill Leitch celebrating Carla's life, with calling hours one hour prior to the funeral. Family and friends may also call Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr. Warren, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can take form in donation to WGH Band Warren Relay for Life Warren Team, 525 North Broad St. Candfield, OH 44406, as her grandson belongs to this Relay for Life Team.
