Dolores R. Portale, 83 of Warren, died Tuesday afternoon, March 1, 2016, at St. Joseph Warren Health Center. She was born May 6, 1932 in Niles the daughter of the late Michael and Theresa Giorgi Bonanno. She was a lifetime Niles-Warren area resident. Dolores was a 1950 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. She retired in 1993 after 27 years service as a production line service person at Packard Electric Corp. Dolores was a member of St. Cyril and Methodius Church, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish, where she helped make pierogies for the church fundraising. She enjoyed going to casinos, family cookouts and loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She is survived by her husband of over 61 years, Joseph J. Portale, Sr., whom she married October 25, 1954; two sons, Joseph J. (Tomi R.) Portale Jr. of Johnston and James S. Portale of Niles; six grandchildren, James S. Jr. and Jenna Portale, Jamie and Jerry McConahy and Jason and Jarrod Fecich; two great grandchildren, Mineko and Parker and one brother, Joseph Bonanno of Niles. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Cyril & Methodius Church in Warren. There will be no calling hours. Entombment will be at Pineview Memorial Park Mausoleum. Arrangements were entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Cancer Center, 1745 Niles Cortland Rd., Warren, OH 44484 or to the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406.
