Evelyn Chapman Ross, 97 of Warren, died Sunday morning, February 21, 2016, at Shepherd of The Valley in Howland. She was born June 17, 1918 in Braceville, the daughter of the late Clifton A. and Clara Smallsreed Chapman. Evelyn was a graduate of Braceville High School and Warren Business College. She had worked for Warren City Schools as a food service supervisor for 30 years, retiring in 1981. Evelyn was a member of the former Second Christian Church for over 60 years, where she had served as a deaconess. She taught for years in the children's ministry of Braceville and Second Christian Churches. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Morning Light Chapter No. 80 in Warren for 40 years and had served as the state membership chairperson and Northeast District Director of the Ohio School Food Service Assoc. Evelyn was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards, golfing, traveling, boating and fishing. She is survived by three sons, Gerald A. (Mary) Ross of Tucson, Donald A. (Janice) Ross of Henderson, Nevada and David C. (Deanna) Ross of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Her husband of nearly 53 years, Albert Ross, whom she married August 22, 1938 preceded her in death in 1991. Two sisters, Florence Bryant and Vera Cisney also preceded in death. There will be no calling hours or services. A private burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna. Arrangements were entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren.
