Orvill "Lee" Simons, Sr., age 73 of Cornersburg, died Sunday morning, April 3, 2016, at Hospice House in Poland. He was born November 15, 1942 in Greene Township, Trumbull county the son of the late Barto Francis and Sarah Belle Culver Simons. He was raised in Greene, Ohio and was a longtime resident of Trumbull and Mahoning counties. Lee served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, receiving the expert Marksman (M-14 rifle) and Sharpshooter badges and being stationed in Germany for a year and a half. He retired in December 2012 from the Trumbull County Job and Family Services office, where he worked in security. He previously worked for Thomas Steel Corp. as a millwright for many years. Lee was a life member of both the West Farmington VFW Post No. 7200 and Warren VFW Post No. 1090 and was a member of the NRA. He was an avid sports fan and loved boating, camping and the outdoors. Lee is survived by one son, Orvill L. (Bobbi) Simons Jr. of Austintown; his stepchildren, Elaine M. (Mark) Prommersberger of Warren, Mike R. (Laurie) Marlatt of Southington and Amanda J. (Keith) Cummings of Canfield; seven grandchildren, Lainie, Todd and Rylie Simons, Justin and Brett Prommersberger, Mikie Marlatt and Milo Cummings; three great grandchildren, Molly and Maggie Marlatt and Savannah Prommersberger; one brother, Gilbert (Mickie) Simons of Newton Falls; two sisters, Barbara A. and Donna J. Simons and his former wives, Marcia Simons and Becky Price. A stepson, Scott A. Marlatt; one brother, Harold Simons and five sisters, Ida Edwards, Lena Simons, Evylan Simons, Ruth Fairmakes and Maxine Simons all have preceded him in death. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday prior to the service. Per Lee's wishes cremation was held.
