Richard Frank Kapalko, 86 of Warren, went home to be with the Lord, on Monday evening, June 6, 2016 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Richard was born February 7, 1930 in Warren a son of the late Frank and Mary (Kopalka) Kapalko. Richard was a 1948 graduate of Newton Falls High School. He worked for Republic Steel, later known as WCI Steel, for over 35 years. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. James Church) in Warren. Richard was a devoted husband and father; his family meant the world to him. Richard is survived by a daughter Lori A. (James) Sanders of Warren; one son, Scott A. (Robin) Kapalko of Howland; four grandchildren, Caitlin and Ryan Sanders and Tyler and Nicole Kapalko Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, the late Lillian (Gregory) Kapalko. They were married on June 30, 1956, Lillian died on May 2, 2015; they were married for 59 wonderful years. Richard is also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Kapalko and Emil Kapalko. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m.., Friday June 10, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Sean Parish (St. James Church), 2532 Burton St S.E. Warren, with Rev. John Lody celebrating the Mass. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the Mass at church. Entombment will be at the garden mausoleum at Pineview Memorial Park in Warren. Care was entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel.
