Sophie M. Hann passed away Monday evening, July 31, 2017 at Briarfield at Ashley Circle in Austintown with her family by her side. Sophie was the youngest daughter born to the late Joseph and Justina (Kolarcik) Bukovinsky on June 28, 1942 in Youngstown and was a lifelong area resident. Sophie was a registered nurse, having graduated with a Master's degree from the Youngstown Hospital School of Nursing and the Ohio State University. She had worked at St. Elizabeth Health Center as well as a plant nurse for General Electric and Lordstown General Motors. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Austintown. Sophie leaves her husband, Jack K. Hann, whom she married September 21, 1968; a daughter, Laura Walker and two grandsons, Justin and Patrick of Omaha, Nebraska. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Stanislav; two brothers, Joe and Mike Bukovinsky. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at St. Joseph Church at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. The family requests material tributes take the form of contribution in Sophie's honor to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512 or on-line at hospiceofthevalley.com. The family would like to thank the staff at Ashley Place and Hospice of the Valley for their commendable dedication care given to Sophie. .
